“10 years ago, I came to Chile from the Dominican Republic looking, like all of us who migrate, for a better quality of life. At first I came alone to try my luck and over time I brought my family.

In my country, I was dedicated to the textile industry. I worked for a little over 20 years as a seamstress, because I learned the trade from my mother. But I realized that it was not very profitable. I was tired, so in a minute I got bored and decided to open a small store.

This project has grown over time, I have restored it and now it is bigger and more beautiful.

Currently we are a family business, where my daughter attends in the morning and my sister-in-law in the afternoon. I live next door and I know a large part of the clients, because we are all neighbors. It's a neighborhood place, where we generally get along. Now, recently, I set up a tent for people to sit down to eat and share a muffin, a roll or a coffee, which is what we sell the most.

The truth is that I don't like what I do: I love it! I feel that it is a pleasant job because I serve people and that pays off in my heart.”

Marcos Polanco (42) owns My Life Market (Miguel León Prado 570, Santiago) and is part of our network of Warehouses at BredenMaster, whom we accompany in the development of their business.
