Savory recipes • Tomato and basil dip for cheese bread
Ingredients:
- 3 large tomatoes, quartered
- 50g red paprika
- 1 dash of olive oil
- 1/4 tsp sugar
- Salt and pepper to taste
- A pinch of garlic powder (optional)
- Fresh Basil
Instructions:
- Preheat the oven to 180ºC
- Arrange the tomatoes and paprika in an ovenproof dish. Spread a drizzle of olive oil over them and season with the sugar, salt, pepper and garlic powder.
- Bake for one hour and then remove from the oven.
- While it's still hot, mash the tomato and paprika with a fork. They should be soft enough. You can also grind everything in the food processor.
- Chop a couple of basil leaves and mix with the sauce.
