Its history dates back to the arrival of the first Christians in northern Europe. There, the inhabitants of the area celebrated the birth of the sun god -Frey- by decorating a non-perennial tree, very similar to the current Christmas tree.

Over time, this idea was taken up by Catholics to celebrate the birth of Christ, although it was Saint Boniface -a German bishop- who installed the idea of ​​the pine, a perennial tree that symbolized the love of God , decorating it with apples and candles and, at the top of the tree, including a star that symbolizes that of Bethlehem.
